Hugh Miers

My visit to Hugh Miers quickly confirmed that he is a very popular resident of Murray House and keen to share his story. Announcing at reception that I was with Mallee Living Histories and had come to see Mr. Miers, I was cordially welcomed. “Sure, Hughie’s in room 57. The old fella’ should be in there now”. The familiarities were clearly signs of friendship. After a few more pleasantries, my attention was drawn to the shelves and walls of his room, and I immediately deduced that much of his story could well be written from the items and pictures on display.
